About us
Helping You Help Others !
Volunteer Council Bluffs (VCB) was founded in 1965 as the first Volunteer Center in Iowa. Volunteer Centers bring people and community needs together, they are catalysts for social action, and key local resources for volunteer involvement. As the Volunteer Center in your community it is our mission to help you help others; match your talents, abilities, interests, and other resources with needs in this area so that together we can build a stronger, healthier community.
To live out our mission in our community we:
- Connect people with opportunities to serve
- Promote volunteering
- Build capacity for effective local volunteering
- Participate in strategic initiatives that meet community needs
We offer services for volunteers, volunteer managers, nonprofit organizations, and corporations with volunteer programs. For more information about specific services you are looking for, please contact us.
Volunteer Council Bluffs is a program of the Loess Hills Chapter of the American Red Cross and receives generous funding from the United Way of the Midlands. VCB is proud to be an affiliate of the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network.
